While viewing the close CT scans of the sinuses, the cloudy spots indicate the presence of the nasal polyps. The nasal polyps are normally benign and appear as a result of several different issues, including-

  • Allergies
  • Asthma
  • A side effect of certain drugs

Size of the Nasal Polyp

  • Nasal polyps vary in their sizes in different cases.
  • Generally, the smaller nasal polyps growths are often unnoticeable because they present no symptoms.
  • In cases of bigger polyps, the sufferer feels great discomfort, as they can block the sinus passages, leading to difficulty in breathing or chronic sinusitis.
  • This nasal polyp is a mass of gelatinous tissue which usually forms from some kind of allergy. However, allergic nasal polyps can be treated with topical nasal steroids or by surgical removal. In most cases, endoscopic sinus surgery is needed for the removal of the nasal polyps
